In the current climate of the Covid-19 pandemic, most of our support is provided over the telephone and via video conferencing. We provide Support advise and Community Engagement by maintaining close contact with our service users (especially those who have been advised to shield) by providing befriending services. We speak with them on a regular basis to check on their wellbeing to ensure that the challenges of the pandemic, lockdown and loneliness are not having an adverse effect on their mental health. Where the need is identified, we provide additional support by coordinating our volunteers to support service users with shopping, food bank collections and picking up medication. So far, we have provided over 34 hours of befriending services with a goal reaching one hundred hours by April 2020.
