Their story

In her interview she discusses the lasting impact of sickle cell and a stroke, and the work of rebuilding life after serious illness. She knows how easily pain can be doubted and how abruptly support can change when a young person moves into adult services.

That experience shapes the charity’s work with families and its call for better clinical understanding. Marie-Claire wants the stories in this project to preserve people’s voices and give decision makers a clearer picture of what care feels like beyond policy and statistics.
